St. Joseph Hospital Adult Day Health
St. Joseph Hospital Adult Day Health is a community-based day program designed to meet the needs of adults with chronic illness and/or disability. The primary focus of our program is to restore or maintain each participant's level of independence to enable them to remain in the community for as long as it is in their and their family's best interest.
Health care team
Registered nurses monitor the general health of each participant whether he or she is dealing with the effects of a stroke, diabetes, heart disease, depression, memory loss or other chronic illness or disability.
Our health care team provides:
Nursing assessments and treatments, medication assistance, foot care and diabetic management
Speech therapy, hearing assistance and dental hygiene services
Coordination of care with physicians, community resources and family members
Occupational therapy
Licensed therapists help people with a variety of physical abilities improve their strength and mobility through:
Individual assessments and therapies
Exercise and strengthening programs
Balance and ambulation programs
Stationary bicycle program
