A Loving Heart Adult Family Home is located in rural Whatcom County on 5 acres approximately 10 miles from Bellingham, Lynden and Everson. Just two miles off the Hannegan road. We have a wheelchair van for transporting our residents to various activities. Last year we took some of our residents to; Adult Day Health, Doll Club, Ceramics, The Pioneer Parade, Tractor Show and the Lynden Fair.
We have a security alarm on all exterior doors and a infrared surveillance camera on the exterior of the home for our residents safety. We offer a quiet country setting with a view of Mount Baker. Both the provider (Janet Arntzen) and her spouse (Jack) are fluent in both English and sign language. Janet has 30 years experience with home care and many years experience with Hospice. Janet and one of the caregivers (Esther Anderson) were 2 of the 4 recipients of the "2006 Someone Who Cares Award" from the Alzheimers Society. We offer pet therapy with our Pomeranian/Pekinese dog named Cuddles at the Noon road house. She is kept groomed and up to date on her shots. She is wonderful with people of all ages.
We have an area for resident gardening, activities and exercise classes. And we have garden fresh vegetables from our garden when in season. We also can our own vegetables.
We currently have openings.
Our second home is now open and has openings. It is located in the Geneva Hills area off Lakeway in Bellingham. At the Bellingham home we have a small Sheltie named Ace. He has been a companion dog since he was born in September 2001.
Mission Statement
We endeavor to provide a positive home environment for those who have limitations due to Physical Limitations, Dementia and Mental Health. We strive to offer a loving atmosphere in a home setting. We work with the medical professionals in the area for continuity of care at the highest level possible. It is our goal to ensure our Residents are safe and cared for at all times.
Having a place to live is home, having someone to love is family, having both is a blessing.
